Serving our Profession

WELCOME

How do we bridge our Sundays to our Mondays? In other words, how does our worship and faith life flow into our week and our work? When our values remain the same throughout the week we  will discover the world of God’s goodness in everything we do.

Crown of Life’s Online Bible Class begins at 7:00 on Thursday. You are welcome to logon after 6:45

01. REVIEW

What Masks of God do you wear as you carry out your family calling?

How did you do this past week?

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Colossians 3:23-24

There’s a story of three great medieval stone masons and a visitor who watched their work with interest.
“What are you doing?! the visitor asks the first mason.
“I’m cutting stone,” the mason replied.
A second mason chimed in, “I’m making a living.”
“And how about you?” the visitor asked the third man.
“Me? I’m building a cathedral for God and his people.”

[Q] There’s a vast difference here- Why?

02. EXPLORE: MEANING IN OUR WORK

03. DISCUSS: PROFESSIONAL STRATEGIES

Work is connected to telling a good story with your life. The goal is faithfulness to God, people, and place. Any work that accomplishes this work is worth pursuing and doing.

04. SERVICE: PROFESSIONAL STRATEGIES

Initiate a workplace volunteer day.

Here are my picks for the week.

Office Kindness

– Relationships can blossom with a little effort. Grab a drink or a lunch for a co-worker. Tell them you appreciate them

– Commit to give to a charity- ask a co-worker which they think you should support (you can have pre-selected options) – give on their behalf.
